In this 12-week online course, students participate in a small, supportive group designed to strengthen their executive functioning skills—the core mental processes that drive academic success, emotional regulation, and independent learning.
During Week 1, students will complete a Self-Reflection Executive Functioning Quiz to identify their unique strengths and areas for growth. This personalized profile guides their learning throughout the program.
Over the following 12 weeks, students will explore and practice the 11 essential executive functioning skills, one each week:
- Response Inhibition – Thinking before acting; impulse control
- Working Memory – Holding, organizing, and using information
- Emotional Control – Managing feelings to achieve goals
- Flexibility – Adjusting to changes, transitions, and new plans
- Sustained Attention – Maintaining focus over time
- Task Initiation – Getting started without procrastination
- Planning & Prioritization – Creating and following effective plans
- Organization – Keeping materials, ideas, and spaces structured
- Time Management – Using time wisely and meeting deadlines
- Goal-Directed Persistence – Staying motivated and completing long-term tasks
- Metacognition – Thinking about thinking; self-reflection and strategy use
Each week includes lessons, real-world practice, guided activities, and tools students can immediately apply to schoolwork, studying, and daily responsibilities.
